Employment Equity
The Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity and Search Compliance Unit within the Office of Institutional Equity is responsible for ensuring the University’s compliance with various Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity (AA/EEO) rules, regulations, and reporting, monitoring the University’s search and hire process for compliance with AA/EEO regulations, and search committee education and training.
As part of our compliance with state and federal AA/EEO regulations, we annually produce a total of 4 Affirmative Action Plans on behalf of the University. Both Storrs/Regional and UConn Health publish the State Affirmative Action Plan for Employment and the Federal Affirmative Action Plan. These reports are compiled using various workforce, payroll, and search committee data.
The AA/EEO and Search Compliance Unit also prepares various internal workforce demographic reports that can be utilized by departments to track their own progress towards achieving EEO.
Additionally, the AA/EEO and Search Compliance Unit monitors the recruitment, search, and hire process for compliance with state and federal AA/EEO regulations and University policies.
Finally, the AA/EEO and Search Compliance Unit conducts ongoing education and training throughout the year on recruitment, applicant evaluation, non-discriminatory interviewing, and selection.
