Search Committee Training

Beginning in the spring 2016 semester, search committee members will be required to complete search committee training before serving on a committee. The Office of Institutional Equity, in conjunction with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) and the Department of Human Resources, has recently updated search committee training. Training workshops now include AA/EEO compliance information, search process steps, and overcoming implicit bias in the search and hire process.

OIE will offer Search Committee Training sessions on the dates below.
All Session take place at the Homer Babbidge Library, Video Theatre 2.

Monday, December 19, 2016 – 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, January 18, 2017 – 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, February 16, 2017 – 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, March 23, 2017 – 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 – 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Monday, May 15, 2017 – 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Search files in Recruiting Solutions will include documentation of committee members who have attended/registered for training. Beginning April 1, 2016, search committee training status will be verified prior to search approval. Committee members who have attended training after August 2014 have been given credit for their attendance.
