Jamila H. Goolgar joined the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) in June 2017, as an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator. Her primary responsibilities include conducts investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment and retaliation involving University employees, including employees of UConn Health, and prepares written decisions and recommendations based on her factual findings. She also provides training to members of the University community on policies and procedures related to preventing and responding to reports of discrimination, harassment and retaliation
Prior to joining the OIE Investigations Team, Jamila worked as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist for the Department of Administrative Services on EEO related matters including, investigating employee claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation and writing Affirmative Action plans for multiple state agencies. Jamila also conducted trainings on Diversity, Sexual Harassment Prevention, and Implicit Bias for hiring managers, supervisors, and agency employees. Jamila has over fourteen years of state service working as a Paralegal and EEO Specialist combined, and is a member of the Connecticut Association for Diversity and Equity Professionals.
Jamila earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Bay Path University. In addition, Jamila has completed 108 educational contact hours in Multicultural Theory and Cultural Competency Training.
