The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) is responsible for ensuring the University’s compliance with State and Federal laws, regulations, and guidelines relative to Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action.

As a federal contractor, the University is obligated to comply with the posting of federally mandated posters.  Recently, the Office of Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) of the Department of Labor (DOL), updated the mandatory employment equity posters. The new Know Your Rights poster summarizes the federal laws prohibiting job discrimination and explains how employees or applicants can file a complaint if they believe they have experienced discrimination.  Additionally, the OFCCP requires the posting of the Pay Transparency Nondiscrimination Provision.   

The Know Your Rights poster and the Pay Transparency Nondiscrimination Provision inform applicants and employees of federal contractors of their rights protected by OFCCP, and contractors must post them in areas where all employees frequently access and can view including, but not limited to:

• breakrooms
• mailrooms
• meeting areas
• lounges
• kitchen areas
• department bulletin boards, etc.

If employees in divisions/units/schools/departments work in multiple buildings, areas, and locations, posters need to be displayed in each location. This includes centers, institutes, and off campus locations.
