The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) is charged by Connecticut law (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 46a-68(b)(4)(A)) with investigating complaints of discrimination made against University employees and mitigating any discriminatory conduct that is found to exist. OIE’s Case Investigations Team fulfills this mandate by conducting neutral investigations into allegations of discrimination and/or discriminatory harassment and ensures the equitable resolution of complaints.
The Case Investigations Team also assists with the coordination and monitoring of campus compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (Title I), Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and applicable state laws regarding workplace accommodations. This responsibility includes providing guidance and evaluating efforts to improve access to campus facilities and programs.
