EEO & Search Compliance Specialist
Katherine Johansen has been with the Office of Institutional Equity as an EEO & Search Compliance Specialist since March 2006. Katherine is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of search files and related records that are essential to the operation of the office and the University’s efforts to comply with Federal and State record-keeping requirements.
Additionally, Katherine is responsible for responding to daily inquiries from search committee administrators and representatives across the University regarding the search process and hiring activities. Also, she regularly provides training sessions to members of the University community on the search process and recruitment strategies. Katherine also contributes to the writing of both the University’s state and federal Affirmative Action Plans.
Katherine facilitates state mandated Diversity Awareness and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for the University. She also contributes to AA/EEO related projects throughout the year.
Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 2006. In addition, she passed the State of Connecticut Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist 1 examination in 2008.
